Help Mohamed Talal’s Family Survive the Genocide in Gaza
United States
Mohamed Talal is a 29-year-old tomato farmer in Gaza. He and his wife, Heba, who is 24, have four young children. Sewar is 5-years-old, Amro is 3 ½ years-old, Aws is just under 2, and Sielen is only 6 1/2 months old. Their 1500 square meter tomato farm established just last year was destroyed by Israeli bombs, and they are now living in a tent on a pasture. They have no food, water, or other basic resources needed to survive. Mohammed and his family cannot move most days as he told us the bombing and shooting are constant.
To survive the month, they need foods like flour, vegetables, powered milk, meat, cooking oil, water, and formula for the baby. They also need firewood, diapers for the baby, and winter clothing like blankets, coats, pants, long sleeve shirts, and shoes.
Because almost all Gazan infrastructure has been destroyed by Israeli bombs and Israel routinely turns trucks away trying to cross the border into Gaza with supplies or destroys them, the supply of basic necessities is extremely limited, and they are incredibly expensive. A gallon of water is $7.50, a bag of diapers is $100, and a kilogram of frozen meat is $53. Gazans are also charged 30% of the funds they receive just to withdraw them.
The biggest expense the Talal family faces is the cost to cross the Rafah border to reach relative safety in Egypt. It will cost $10,000 for Mohamed and Heba to cross the border and another $10,000 for their four children. Please donate to ensure Mohamed’s family can survive the winter!
